Pulmonary Functions Testing/Spirometry

Pulmonary Functions Test's (PFT) are noninvasive test's that show how well the lungs are working. The tests measure lung volume, capacity, rates of flow and gas exchange. This information can help your healthcare provider decide the treatment of certain lung disorders.

Spirometry is used to diagnose asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and many other conditions that may affect your breathing.

What does it measure?

  2. How much air you can breathe out.
  3. How fast you can exhale the air from your lungs.

Who should be tested?

  • Firefighters
  • Welders
  • Construction Workers
  • Grading contractors
